Golden Touch – Grad School Thesis

Human beings have had the golden touch since the very beginning. By naming, categorizing, connecting, and imagining, we give objects a meaning that they did not originally possess. When a graphic is formed, the magic circle has landed in the air. The power of the intuitive world, and beyond, has been sealed into these dots, lines, and shapes created by man.

This project is about divination, and design as a vessel that serves reincarnation in the cyber world. Because by the very nature of intuition, the language of art is more suited to its expression than any other abstract theories or mathematics.

As Ludwig Wittgenstein’s famous quote:
“what can be said at all can be said clearly, and what we cannot talk about we must pass over in silence.”

The keywords for the visual identity are random and evolve. It was inspired by ink test, Tasseomancy, Osteomancy, and any other organic structures formed by nature. The visual is formed by elements that resemble animal bones, which is a commonly used tool among ancient diviners.
